BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The BGCHBG Board of Directors is the active governing body of the Boys & Girls Club of Harrisburg. Board members commit to being active in governance responsibilities and focus on organizational performance, including holding the Board and Executive Director accountable. Board members are expected to provide professional services when applicable, be assertive in identifying roles and ways to help organization, and be advocates as a voice in the community, promoting the club.
The Boys & Girls Club of Harrisburg Board of Directors understands the importance of leadership cannot be overstated. Volunteer leaders represent the strength and diversity of local Club boards. They are a reflection of the communities in which they live and work. Their depth of understanding about Clubs is crucial to their power as advocates. As such, the board has three basic roles. 1. Establish identity & strategic direction. 2. Ensure necessary resources. 3. Provide oversight.
